BEYOND THE BIRDIE
A group of junior golfers going above and beyond the course!
Our
Story
Everybody had a name for him. Some people called him Alan, some called him Bandit, some called him Big Al, but I called him Birdie. Birdie loved golf and loved watching me play golf. He was always my biggest inspiration because not only was he a good golfer but he was a really great person. He was incredibly brave, very kind, and extremely funny. I was so lucky to have him as my grandfather. With that being said, I wanted to do something in his memory. So I started a campaign called Beyond the Birdie. My goal is to raise money for three different organizations this year, Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour, Carolinas Golf Association, and Stroke Research or Rehabilitation. The organizations may change every year but they will always be golf and stroke-related.
I have recruited a group of junior golfers to help raise money and help get to the common goal of raising awareness for strokes and growing junior golf. The plan is to raise money through donations of either pledges per birdie or flat donations. Each junior golfer will keep track of how many Birdies, Eagles, and Aces they make during the months of June through October in tournaments.
If you're interested in making a pledge come see me so I can write your name and your pledge down. I can also email you later this week with information on how you can pledge online. Thank you!
